We did it by the book and did not introduce solids until 6 months. Since then, Matilda has moved from being spoon fed things like pureed fruit, veggies, meat and fish to feeding herself from an array of food chunks we put on her tray. She already can feed herself cheerios, rice, pasta, avocado, lettuce, lentils, grapes, oranges (she eats the peels), apples, pears and cheese. This week was a bonanza. She had lots of new things such as scrambled egg, squid, korean bbq, french fries, chocolate chip cookies, mozzarella, jap chae, fried chicken, rotisserie chicken, and pickles. So far, no allergies.
