2011 was a great year for Matilda! Her art continues to amaze us. She has developed a love of cooking (and eating) and takes great care of her little brother.
She continues to question the world around her and is very exited to turn 5! Her favorite color is still pink. She likes to listen to Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. Her dancing is amazing as ever. Her favorite book at the moment is “Trouble at the Dinosaur Cafe”.
Here is a pic of her from New Year’s Day looking all grown up.
For Halloween this year, Matilda was a superhero called “Superstar”. She loved this costume!
Trick or treating was brief. It was freezing and there was snow everywhere. Half of the homes in our area had no power!
Matilda loves to cook! We started out by letting her beat the eggs or wash the salad but we are progressing to some chopping, stirring and prep work.
Last week was her most challenging assignment. We had her clean some sardines that we bought at the market. I expected her to be squeamish about handling the fish but she was a champ!
She even tried eating one! (She liked it).
Matilda is 4 years old today! We celebrated her party at Pizzeria Uno.
Matilda’s self portraits have come a long way!
Here is Dec
And here is one from this week
And I was really impressed by this drawing of Ariel the Little Mermaid and some fish. She also drew the water and the sun in the sky!
Matilda basically wants to wear ballet skirts all the time and enjoys watching an extremely boring show called “Angelina Ballerina”.
Here is a picture of her doing a curtsy.
Matilda told me all month long that she wanted to be a princess, but last minute she changed her mind and decided to be Minnie Mouse again. She really enjoyed pretending to be a mouse by nibbling on cheese and hiding/pretending to be scared.
We had a great day at Ardsley Day.
Matilda had her first taste of cotton candy
and she had a great time in the bounce house.
